🎋 Meet the Giant Panda
Giant pandas are native to the mountain forests of central China, where they spend much of their time surrounded by one of their favourite things — bamboo!
Although pandas belong to the bear family, their diet is unusual for a bear because it consists mainly of bamboo. They spend a large part of each day eating to get the nutrition they need.
And those cute black patches around their eyes aren’t just there to make them look adorable — their distinctive black-and-white colouring may help pandas with camouflage and communication.

Newborn giant pandas are incredibly tiny compared with their mothers. They’re born pink with very little fur, and their famous black-and-white markings develop as they grow.
